Dolphin Adventure Jack

What a great day in the snow. We had a blizzard in Rockaway on Thursday and Friday, so we took advantage of the perfect packing snow and built a snowman! Jack and I rolled the bottom snowball all by ourselves - we were exhausted! Becky, Ben and Annie helped us out along with the parents (Liz, Bill and Dan). Then, this morning I asked Jack to draw the event as he remembered it. I love it - it shows Jack and myself behind the giant snow ball, and the kids rolling the other 2 balls. Mom is on top of the stairs watching. I like the addition of the squirrel and the bluejay in the sky. We may work on the snowman more tomorrow. Great job Jack!

We got to stop by Gram and Grampa's house in Connecticut on our way home from Maine. We had some Ct. square pizza (the best pizza in the world) and had some great visit time! This is a great picture!

Here's some photos that Jack hand picked from an old batch on our computer. It's a trip to the Turtleback zoo. The zoo has an aviary where the kids can feed the parakeets (or whatever they are). Jack liked the blue bird the best. The other pic shows a zookeeper with a baby alligator. Pretty cool.

Jack drew this cool submarine drawing early this morning and I asked him if I could take it to work with me. You can see Laurie and myself on the ship and below you can see the orange sub with Jack and Goldie. I love the tiny propeller in the back and the lines that show the ocean current. Nice job Jack!

Jack's homework assignment: Include 100 things on a piece of paper. Today, I enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table with the family, listening to Jack's new birthday mix cd, and watching him draw 100 animals on this piece of paper. I love this drawing - great job Jack!

Jack wanted to know if there were stars in space in the shape of a dolphin, so we googled "dolphin constellation" and sure enough there is one. I posted this picture up and asked Jack if he would like to say anything about it. He took this opportunity to get my goat by dictating nonsense to me, and then taking over the writing himself.
